In order to determine the success of the experiment, I need to have a few ‘measurables’.
The point of it is weight-loss (or specifically fat loss) so I got one one of those body-fat measuring contraptions first thing this morning. Here’s what it told me:
As you can see, standing tall at 6ft exactly, weighing just over 15st classifies me as overweight. Not a big shock to me, as this blog is testament to. That I’m overweight on the BMI reading, I don’t care about. It’s a simplistic measurement. If you’re bulky, you could have very little fat and be “overweight”. But at least I know.
The important one there is Body Fat(%) at a whopping 34.9% of my total weight, meaning I am carrying around over 33kg/5st in fat. The experiment will be a success if those numbers are reduced by the end of February.
The second measurable is the eye test. Look away now if you don’t have a good stomach.
The eye test doesn’t produce pretty results. I want that belly gone if I consider this a success. It measures 42″ round the belly. The waist is 34″ or so. That’s the jeans size.
The work starts here!

Good luck!
